How To Easily Learn All The Note Names On Guitar

In this video, you learn the best way to memorize the guitar fretboard so that you know where all the notes are in an instant. It’s one thing to know the note names on the guitar, but it is something else again to be able to find them without having to think.
In this lesson, you learn a foolproof method that is guaranteed to get you familiar with all the note names on the guitar so that you find any one of them instantly.
Learning the guitar fretboard will make guitar playing so much easier.
It’s akin to trying to find something in a room with the lights off in pitch black versus with the lights on.
First, you are going to learn some key note reference points on the fretboard for a little foundation.
Then I walk you through a method that will have you know where all the notes are on the guitar in just a short amount of time.

Note Name Reference Points
Below are some note reference points on the fretboard that will begin to lay a little foundation for you regarding the naming of notes.

• Open Strings
Below are the open string note names. Yes, you probably know these, but let’s include them all the same:
• Open String Octaves
Next, we have the octave of each open string that occurs at the 12th fret:
• Open String Unisons
Finally, we see that the open strings repeat at the 5th fret on the string below, except the 3rd string where the B appears at the 4th fret:
The Note Naming Strategy
Below are each of the 7 natural notes as they appear on the fretboard between frets 1 and 12. Notice each note only appears once on each string within this range.
