Must Know Music Theory Fundamentals For Guitar and How To Apply Them To Your Playing

In this video, you learn the fundamentals of music theory for guitar. Knowing the basics of music theory will go a long way for your playing. It helps you understand the music you listen to, which allows you to apply the concepts you hear to your own playing.
However, you MUST apply the theory you learn to the fretboard. Theory without any practical use is useless. You must be able to use it!
Everything you learn in this lesson will be applied to the fretboard for that reason. We will look at:
• The Musical Alphabet
It all begins with the alphabet. You learn the musical alphabet and how it applies to the fretboard.
• Scales
From the musical alphabet comes scales. You learn the make up of both the major and minor scales and how these relate to the fretboard.
• Chords
Next, we have chords. You learn the make up of both the major and minor chords and the best way to get going with these on the guitar.
• Diatonic Harmony
Finally, we look at the relationship of chords to scales through diatonic harmony. We look at both the harmony of the major scale and the minor scale and how you can use this to create great sounding music.
