Secondary Dominant Chords GuitarIn this video, you learn how to play and create music using secondary dominant chords on guitar.

Some of the greatest songs ever written have used secondary dominant chords in very effective ways.

The concept of secondary dominant chords is simple but extremely effective. Instead of sticking strictly to diatonic harmony (ie. only playing chords that belong to the key), secondary dominant chords allow you to momentarily step out of the key to add great interest to the progressions you play.

In this lesson, I break down the concept of secondary dominant chords in detail, using the key of D major, running through each of the secondary dominant options you have in this key.

I then provide you with examples of secondary dominant chords songs, including:

• For The Longest Time - Billy Joel
• Nobody Knows You When You Are Down And Out - Eric Clapton
